Hello from the Gold Coast,
This week, the Bushranger’s Treasure is available for free.
A Michelle Cruise Adventure
A mysterious letter draws television investigator Michelle Cruise to Queensland and an old bushranger puzzle. Ghostly lights haunt the Nerang River, an old map points to a treasure lost for generations, and someone is ready to kill for it.
From my desk:

🔍 The Ghost Who Hates Renovations
Tulloch Castle in the Highlands has a long history of hauntings, and staff say one spirit — known only as The Green Lady — has developed a very specific hobby: sabotaging renovations. Whenever workers try to update the old wing, tools vanish, ladders topple, and paint tins mysteriously slide across the floor. One contractor swears he saw a woman in a green gown standing at the end of the corridor… until she walked straight through a wall. The castle manager’s official stance: “She doesn’t like change.”
A very Scottish haunting — stubborn, territorial, and apparently allergic to modern décor.
🔍A ghost with a flair for theatrics
Kiyotaki Tunnel in Kyoto, Japan, is infamous for two things:
- Phones and cameras die inside the tunnel, even with a fully charged battery.
- Your shadow sometimes appears on the wrong side of your body. Locals say the tunnel was built using forced labour in the 1920s, and the spirits of the dead still linger. Drivers report seeing pale figures standing in the middle of the road — but when they brake, the figure is suddenly behind the car instead. Police have no explanation. Locals give it a wide berth after dark.
🔍The White Lady Complaints
Union Cemetery in Connecticut, USA, has a famous apparition called The White Lady, but the strangest part isn’t her appearance — it’s her behaviour. She reportedly knocks on car windows to complain about speeding. One driver said she tapped twice, pointed at his speedometer, and vanished. The local police chief once joked, “She’s more effective than our patrols.”
A haunting with civic responsibility — rare, but appreciated.
